1. Why this page exists

Snapshots stores a player name and your score records on our server so the leaderboard can exist. That is personal data, and you can have it deleted. This page describes exactly how, in plain language, as required by Art. 17 GDPR and its equivalents under the UK GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA, the LGPD, PIPEDA and the rest, and by the platform rules that apply to apps letting a user create an identity.

We adopt the GDPR right to erasure as the global baseline: it applies to every user, in every country.

2. What Snapshots holds about you

There is no email address, no password, no payment data and no profile, because Snapshots never asks for any of it.

3. Deleting the data on your device

Logging out inside the app deletes the local player record and the local game database on that device. Deleting the app removes everything it stored. Neither of these two actions reaches the server — the player name and the scores stay on the leaderboard until you ask for them to be removed.

We state this plainly because the opposite would be a false promise: logging out is a local action, and only the route in § 4 deletes the server-side record.

4. Deleting the data on our server

Two routes, both free and neither requiring the app:

Web form — https://data-protection.digitalfreedom.co.za. Choose data deletion and give the player name shown in the app.
Email — data-protection@digitalfreedom.co.za, subject Data deletion — Snapshots, naming the player name.

A postal request is also accepted at DigitalFreedom Global LLC, 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States.

What happens then. We acknowledge within 5 working days. Because Snapshots holds no email address, we cannot verify ownership of a player name by email alone; where the name is not obviously yours, we may ask for something only the holder would know — for example the approximate date it was created or a recent score — and we ask for nothing beyond that. Deletion follows immediately on that confirmation. The identity check takes at most 30 days and usually far less; that limit is the outer bound of the check, not of the deletion.

What deletion means. The player record and every score attached to it are removed from the database. It is a real deletion, not a flag and not a queued purge. Your name disappears from the leaderboard. Backups follow their normal rotation and are never used to restore deleted data. The name becomes available for someone else to choose.

5. What we may have to keep

These records are restricted to that purpose, hold only what the purpose needs, and are accessible only to authorised personnel.

6. Your purchase, and your Apple ID

Deleting your Snapshots data does not delete your Apple ID and does not cancel or refund your purchase.

The one-time unlock is tied to the Apple ID that bought it, not to the player name. It survives deletion, and it can be restored in the app at any time.

7. Deleting only part of it

If you want the score records removed but the player name kept, or a single entry removed, say so in the request — we act on the narrower request rather than deleting more than you asked for. Art. 16 and 17 GDPR apply either way, and we respond within one month.

8. Your other rights

Beyond deletion you have access, rectification, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. See § 10 of the privacy policy. Under Art. 77 GDPR the complaint goes to the authority of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement; the EU/EEA authorities are listed at https://edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members_en.

9. Changes to this page

We update this page when a route or a retention period changes. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
