1. Purpose

This notice explains the relationship between Snapshots and the third-party trademarks that appear in the app, on this website and in its store listing. Snapshots is available in every territory the Apple App Store serves, so this notice applies globally. EU trademark law — Regulation (EU) 2017/1001 and Directive (EU) 2015/2436 — and the nominative-fair-use doctrine are the baseline; the trademark rules of every other jurisdiction where Snapshots is offered apply in addition.

2. Nominative fair use

References to third-party trademarks are made under the doctrine of nominative fair use — in EU law Art. 14(1) of Regulation (EU) 2017/1001, in Germany § 23(1) nos. 2 and 3 MarkenG, and comparable doctrines elsewhere. They serve to:

identify a platform, product or service accurately;
tell you where the app runs, where it is sold and how it is paid for;
describe compatibility and technical facts.

They do not imply endorsement, affiliation, sponsorship, certification or approval by the trademark owner.

All trademarks, registered trademarks, service marks and trade names referenced in Snapshots or in its materials are the property of their respective owners. We claim no ownership of them.

Apple’s badge. “Download on the App Store” and the App Store badge are used in accordance with Apple’s marketing guidelines for developers. Apple is not a sponsor of Snapshots.

4. Independent development

Snapshots is developed independently by DigitalFreedom Global LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by any third-party trademark owner. Functional similarity to another product implies no licence or partnership; running on a platform implies no certification by that platform’s owner.

5. Our own marks

Snapshots and the Snapshots icon are used as marks of DigitalFreedom Global LLC. DigitalFreedom is our publisher brand. Neither may be used without our prior written consent, except for nominative references of the same kind this notice describes — naming the app in a review, an article or a store listing is fine.

6. Complaints

If you own a trademark and believe Snapshots uses it beyond nominative fair use, write to hello@digitalfreedom.co.za with:

identification of the mark — registration number and jurisdiction;
identification of the use you object to — the specific screen, page or material;
the remedy you are asking for;
your contact details.

We review such complaints in good faith and act where warranted.

7. Changes

We update this notice when a component or a named third party changes. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
