Terms of use

1. Scope

These terms govern the use of the Snapshots iOS app and the website at snapshots-quiz.app, both operated by Berger & Rosenstock GbR, Dieselstraße 22e, 61231 Bad Nauheim, Germany.

2. Subject of the contract

Snapshots is a word puzzle game. We provide the app for free download via the Apple App Store. A lifetime in-app purchase removes the free-tier puzzle limit. The free version stays usable indefinitely; the lifetime unlock is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

3. Acceptable use

  • One real person per player account.
  • Player names must not infringe third-party rights, must not be hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise unlawful.
  • Reverse engineering, scraping the backend, or automating score submissions is prohibited.
  • We may remove player names or scores that violate these rules without prior notice.

4. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. The app's offline-first design lets you keep playing during short backend outages. We may pause the backend for maintenance with reasonable notice when possible.

5. In-app purchases

Purchases run through Apple's App Store. Apple's terms apply to the purchase transaction. The lifetime unlock binds to your Apple ID and can be restored on any device where you are signed in with the same Apple ID. Refunds are handled by Apple.

6. Liability

We are liable without limitation in cases of intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and to the extent of any guarantee we have given. Otherwise, our liability is limited to typical, foreseeable damages.

7. Changes

We may change these terms when laws, payment providers, or the app itself change in ways that require it. We will notify users in the app before material changes take effect.

8. Governing law and venue

German law applies. For consumers with their habitual residence in another EU member state, mandatory consumer protection provisions of that state remain unaffected. Place of jurisdiction is, where legally permitted, Bad Nauheim, Germany.
